It’s really nice to go on vacation with another couple when everybody likes to do the same things. That’s how it is with our friends Elaine and Craig who are with us in Aspen this week.
Today, they got up early and went to the health club to workout while my husband and I sat around nursing our cups of coffee and reading the newspaper. Then, we all got cleaned up and headed into town for a day of walking around and window- shopping.
We enjoyed lunch in a little “hole in the wall” that we have dined in for over 10 years. We topped it off with hot chocolate at the base of Aspen Mountain while watching the skiers fly by.
This evening, we tried a new restaurant that opened three months ago located about 10 minutes from our place. It was fabulous. I had saved 12 points for my dinner and enjoyed a medley of vegetables including a huge pile of grilled asparagus. Yum!
It’s expected to snow 12 inches tonight, which is great because we are going out to lunch tomorrow in a horse and carriage. We can’t wait.
In the meantime, it’s beauty rest time.
