Food for a cat…really?

Here’s the difference between how a perpetually thin woman, my sister, and a not so thin woman, me, buy food.  It may unlock the secret of my family’s discrepancy in body size.

My sister was ordering her dinner from the fish counter at the supermarket.  She asked for four ounces of salmon and the butcher showed her the cut piece for her approval.  An overweight woman who was next in line asked her, “Is that piece of fish for your cat?"

My sister, who lives alone, buys as much food as she needs for her meal.  I, on the other hand, would have bought a pound of salmon and planned to eat part of it.  Of course, the “before Weight Watchers me” would have eaten all of it because it was there.

I’m still wondering about who buys salmon at the fish counter for their cat.  I’m glad I have dogs.

Talk to you soon.
